QPM20-EO External Oscillator

Overview

The QM20-EO External Oscillator is designed for use in thin film deposition systems alongside the QM20 Quartz Monitor. It provides reliable operation in setups where the primary monitor must be located at a distance from the feedthrough.

Flexible Sensor Connection

The QM20-EO acts as a crucial link between your crystal sensor and the main instrument. It features dedicated BNC connectors labeled "INSTRUMENT" for connecting back to the QM20 monitor, and "SENSOR" for attaching the short cable to the feedthrough. This external configuration allows for greater flexibility in system layout and cable routing.

Optimized Performance and Integration

To maintain optimal QM20 performance and ensure signal integrity, specific cable requirements must be followed. The oscillator connects to the crystal sensor using a provided 15 cm BNC cable. For proper operation, the maximum BNC cable length between the external crystal oscillator and the QM20 instrument is up to 10 meters.

Important Safety and Operating Notes

The QM20-EO contains delicate circuitry susceptible to transient power line voltages. Users must disconnect the power cord whenever making any sensor connections. Additionally, please note that the QM20 system may not be suitable for use with RF sputtering systems or in other electrically noisy environments. The unit must be stored in a dry room at temperatures between −20∘C and 50∘C.

Key Features:

Flexible System Layout

Designed specifically for thin film deposition setups where the primary QM20 Quartz Monitor must be located at a distance from the feedthrough. It acts as a reliable, crucial link for your crystal sensor.

Optimized Cable Integration

Features clearly labeled "INSTRUMENT" and "SENSOR" BNC connectors. It connects to the crystal sensor via a provided 15 cm BNC cable and supports a maximum cable length of up to 10 meters back to the main instrument, ensuring optimal routing freedom and signal integrity.

Equipment Safety & Compatibility

Contains delicate circuitry designed for precision. To prevent damage from transient power line voltages, the power cord must be disconnected when making sensor connections. Note: This system is not suited for RF sputtering or other electrically noisy environments.

Storage & Handling Specifications

To ensure long-term reliability and accurate performance, the external oscillator must be properly maintained when not in use. The unit requires storage in a dry room environment at temperatures strictly between -20°C and 50°C.
